Bikers, coffee lovers, and beer drinkers now have something in common: Pedalers Fork and 10 Speed Coffee. These partnered shops, incepted in Hood River, Oregon are set to open on Calabasas Road this coming fall. The shops both cater to the cyclist culture, featuring biker paraphernalia as well as a boutique bike shop. Gideon Kleinman, head of creative and marketing for Pedalers Fork stated, “‘We wanted to create a sort of full-stop bike cyclist hangout that really has all the components, from food, to coffee and café culture, which is really integrated into the cycling community.'”
Building these shops in Calabasas may seem like an odd location to some but Kleinman believes the “Calabasas location is ideal for cyclists because of its proximity to nearby canyons.” Both Pedalers Fork and 10 Speed Coffee are the ideal location for cyclists to congregate after a long ride. In order to promote the restaurant, Kleiman hopes to start weekly meetings at the restaurant to go on rides with other cyclists from the area.
This innovative idea is sure to be a hit amongst the cyclist community but all locals should consider checking out these spots upon their opening. Beyond the cycling products, Pedalers Fork will offer craft beers, a full bar as well a delectable menu. This could certainly be the next hotspot for the Calabasas community.
